Our agenda this week was very full and as we were greeted by
Kristi Pollard, I knew that it would be a great meeting.
President Kristin opened our meeting by welcoming all Kiwanians
and their guests. This was our Annual Membership Meeting and
there were a large number of guests. I will give details in a
moment on those individuals. Rich Emerson led us in song as
Jeannie Thomas played “This Land Is Your Land”. Wes D’Aponti
delivered our invocation and President Kristin recited our
Defining Statement.
Our invited guests this week were: Conard Pyle introduced by
Mike Moran; Rick Nisley brought LeAnn Kensan; Mike Kelly
introduced Paul Cruz; Scott Hayduk introduced Rotarian David
Durham; Sandy Barger was with Crimson Alvir and Nina Anderson as
her guests; Randy Kirschbaum brought Arthur Graham, Jeff
Freeland introduced Rebecca Cope; Tony Colaizzi introduced his
guest, Darren; Tammy Rupe introduced her guest Tamiel; Terry
Wakefield was with Paula Allard and Russ Shipman; Kristi Adams
introduced her guest Kim Hobart; LeAnne Zetmeir introduced May
Story; Kristi Pollard brought Sean Norris; Roxie Denning
introduced Sheryl Violett; Bev Troester was with her son Jarrod
Hammond; Jim Corley introduced his guest Todd Brock; and Doug
Carpenter was with Brad Thompson. The number of guests this
week was fantastic and we encourage our members to return with
their guests and get those applications completed.
Bob Colony and Katie Ames spoke about our Corporate Sales for
Pancake Day. Katie had a great gauge showing where we are in
reaching our goal of $45,000.00. Bob Colony announced that we
were at $17,250.00!!
There was a fund raiser ski day at Powderhorn on Friday, March
28. The money raised will go to Colorado Discoverability and
when Steve Thompson stepped up as Fine Master all fines and a
match ($50.00) from Steve were donated to Colorado
Discoverability. Great Job, Steve!!
Wes D’Aponti is in need of committee members for our upcoming
election of officers. If you are interested in becoming a Board
Member, please let Wes know.

Bucks were paid this week by Rotarian David Durham. David is a
member of “King n Trio” and sang one of their newest songs
“Turning 60 Blues”. Kiwanian Happy Bucks came from Mike Moran,
Rick Nisley, Bill Byers, Lloyd Unfred, Bev Troester, Chris
Gumone, Sean Norris (Kristi Pollard’s guest), Joe Breman and
Kevin Price.
Fine Master Steve Thompson was up next and fined Rick Tuma, Jeff
Freeland, himself, Omar Campos and Jim Moore. Like I said
earlier, all of the fines this week were donated to Colorado
Discoverability.
Shaunalee Wall introduced our program this week. As a longtime
member of our club Rich Emerson spoke about what it means to him
to be a Kiwanian. Rich had all of us singing the Welcome Song
to our guests. Bruce Hill spoke about his connection to this
club that began when he was in high school. Alan Watkins, as a
new member, spoke about why he is in our club. Kristi Adams
spoke about the Young Women of the Month program that we have
each month during the school year and what that is all about.
Terry Wakefield spoke about the allocations that we give out
each year to non profit organizations in our community. Terry
introduced Russ Shipman from the Marillac Clinic. Russ spoke
about the Children’s Dental Program at Marillac and all of the
children that benefit from this program. The Marillac Clinic is
one of the non profits that received money from our club last
year. President Kristin wrapped up our program by talking about
how great it is to be a member of this club. She invited our
guests to seriously consider becoming a Kiwanian.
Jessica Miracle delivered both the “Joke of the Day” and the
“Thought for the Day” Vikki Bell won the $5.00 for not reciting
the Defining Statement and Vikki gave that $5.00 back to the
club. Vern Gray drew the lucky winner of the raffle drawing.
Lloyd Unfred won $64.00 this week!!!
President Kristin adjourned our full meeting at 1:30.
