If you love your
Kiwanis club it is time to get in there and pay your bill.
Treasurer Orville Peterson said there are some $7000 in
past due billings. If you are part of that problem
please pay up now. But of course be sure to bring some money to
club so you can pay all the fines that are being handed out. New
fine master Rita Crumpton decided that if you were at club today
you deserved to be fined. It seems to me the ones needing to be
fined are those who are not at club. At any rate it was a time
to fork it over. Besides fining everyone who was there and had
not been fined for anything else she fined Mike Moran, Jeff
Freeland, Roxie Denning, as well as Larry Beckner. Then Ron
Sherman took over and fined Les Goodding, Vern Gray, and Jeff
Cyriaks. The Greeters today were Stephanie Tuin and Tom
Sheldon. The Song of the day was My Wild Irish Rose. Tom Sheldon
brought the thought for the day as well as News, Weather and
Sports. Jim Moore won the five bucks for saying the defining
statement.
This week Dennis Durmas is celebrating a birthday. He
declined to say which one.
The program was Young Women of the Month. Kristi Adams did a
great job introducing the students and their teachers. Palisade
High was represented by Breanna Ehlers. She had her parents
Scott and Luann Ehlers with her as well as her teacher Dave
Carlo. Central High’s Deidra Cook was the student of the month.
She came with her parents Duane and Kim Cook and her teacher
Melanie Morris. Grand Junction High sent us Kristin Scandary.
She had her parents Robert and Teresa with her as well as
teacher, Bud Glover. Finally Fruita selected Katy Whistler as
their young woman of the month. She was introduced by her
mother, Patrice Whistler, because the teacher Brian Palmer could
not attend.
Congratulations to all these fine young women.
Kristi Adams had a guest. It was her mother-in-law Nancy
Hubbard. Steve Castor brought as his guest, Bob King. Roxie
Denning brought Holly Zechin and Holly’s son, Riley, with her.

Durmas, Bill Byers, Sally Ryand as well as Bruce Isaacson, Toni

time will be reduced from $75.00 to $50.00.

Barger needs help planning for Pancake Day. Bob Colony and

those to call on corporate sponsors was on the tables. If you

details.
Paul Miller brought a gift for President LeAnn Zetmier from
his recent trip to American Samoa. He brought a skirt which I
think he called a walla-walla. He said it has rained over 100
inches there since the first of the year.

Department of Wildlife. See you then!
