When we came into
Kiwanis today our greeters were Pete Jouflas and Mike Kelly.
Pete, where did you get those protectors? Did you think we might
get you all dirty? President LeAnn Zetmier conducted the
meeting. The song of the day was Heart of My Heart. It was so
good to have Jeanne Thomas back playing the piano. Today she was
accompanied by her husband, Chuck.
Jeanne thanked everyone for the cards and for the money given
to hire someone to clean her house while she has been
recuperating from the auto accident. She is still in a wheel
chair but is doing much better.
Other than those there because of the Young Women of the
Month there were no guests. That is probably a record for the
year.
Those with Happy Bucks included Mike Moran, who said he heard
Bob Burger mention Kiwanis on his Radio Program. Mike also
mentioned the recognition Kristi Adams and Thea Chase have
received. Kevin Price put in a buck to recognize the Mesa State
BB team. Dave Kearsley had a buck as did Rick Tuma. Amy Dyer was
happy to mention her niece was being recognized as a Student of
the Month.
Our fine master today was Jeff Cyriaks. He fined Randy
Kirschbaum and Rick Nisley for not sharing the Girl Scout
cookies. Fred Nichols was fined for shirt advertising as was
Steve Attarian and Dennis Durmas. Ron Lappi was fined for not
mentioning Kiwanis when he was interviewed in the paper.
Larry Beckner tod a little about his life. He said he has
been a member of Kiwanis for 30 years and that his dad was a
member before him from 1952.. He also said Kiwanis has been an
important part of his life. He mentioned that his wife was
celebrating her birthday today. He also loves skiing. Next week
the one to tell of his life is Blaine Scott.

There is a workday this Saturday for the women of the club at
Habitat For Humanity’s women built house. Kristin Winn has all
the details.
Next Thursday is a charter luncheon. Come if you can. A sign
up sheet for guests was on the table today.
Wes D’Aponti said he had to have the final count for the
Mardi Gras party by this week-end. If you have not made
arrangements to go and would like to attend call Wes today!
Jeff Freeland, Kevin Price and Brad Krebill are heading up
the committee to promote the Kiwanis Golf Tournament. It is to
be in May. Talk to one of these three for full details.
President LeAnn said that at the last election Ken Willard
was the runner up for member of the board. With the election of
Kristin Winn for Vice President there is a vacancy on the board.
She asked the club to plan to approve Ken to fill this vacancy
next week.

Sports. Mostly he talked about the Olympics.
