Our last meeting for 2006 was a good
celebration and wrap-up for the year. We
were greeted by Eric Lusby who did a great
job of welcoming all of us to our “Family
Day” Meeting. In Wes D’Aponti’s absence,
our President-Elect Kristin Winn opened the
meeting by welcoming all Kiwanians and their
guests. We were led in song by Terry
Wakefield as we sang “Rudolph the Red-Nosed
Reindeer” and Ron Sherman delivered our
invocation. Thank you all for your
contributions to our meeting.
Many Kiwanians brought family members to
lunch today. They were Jeff Gumone, Pete
Jouflas, Steve Katz, Toni Heiden-Moran,
Orville Boge, Joe Breman, Bill Byers, Dennis
Durmas, Kristi Porter, Roxie Denning, Tom
Sheldon, Kevin Price, Bob Colony, Stacey
Mascarenas, Eric Lusby and Terry Wakefield.
Kristi Porter beautifully recited our
defining statement. Wally Bessinger and Don
Pfifer, from the Golden K Club, joined us
for lunch today.
The One Minute Education Spot from Kristin
was on the Key Club. This is a service
organization sponsored by a local Kiwanis
Club for high school youth. They are
provided a place to meet and an advisor from
the faculty. Key Clubs have the same
objectives as Kiwanis through service to the
school and the community. They provide the
opportunity to learn necessary skills to be
a leader.
Happy Birthday was sung to Ron Sherman,
Steve Katz, Amy Hand and Bonnie Pehl-Petersen.
All of these Kiwanians celebrated a birthday
during the week of December 24th.
We did have some happy Kiwanians who paid
the
J Bucks.
They were Ron Sherman, Joe Breman, Dennis,
Durmas, LeAnn Zetmeir, Bill Byers, Jeff
Gumone and Lloyd Unfred.
Jeff Cyriacks was our Fine Master this
week. Fines were issued to Dennis Durmas,
Bill Byers, Roxie Denning, Betsy Madden,
Brad Krebill and Greg Schaefer.
Kristin Winn made another announcement about
the need for a Corporate Sales
Co-Chairperson. Jeff Gumone stepped up the
plate and said that he would help. Thank
you, Jeff!!
Our program today was presented by Joe
Breman and it was a delightful one. Dave
Blehm, the Magician, entertained the
audience with his magic tricks and some of
the children helped as his assistants.
Those children were Marcus and Justin who
helped with the “Rope Trick”, Maddie was his
helper with the “Money Trick”, Madison was
his helper with the “Tin Can Trick”. Keily
and Kaitlyn helped Dave with the “Coke &
Pepsi Contest Trick”. Dave is a great
magician and had many of the people in the
audience wondering “How did he do that?” It
was a wonderful show and one that we look
forward to each year.
Kristin thanked Joe Breman and his team for
their contributions during the month of
December. Great Job!! Greg Schaefer gave
us the “Thought for the Day” and we were
adjourned at 1:15 by Kristin.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007!!
Until next week…. Roxie Denning, Bulletin
