Vice President elect Mike McDill filled in for the President.

Greeters were Ted Sparn and Amy Dyer

The song was God Bless America

Invocation by Orville Peterson filling in for Bruce Isaacson.

Joke of the Day: Brad Krebill

Guests: Randy Kirschbaum brought Keith Owens, Amy Dyer introduced Dr. Curtis Swift who was the program, Sandy Barger had her son, Zack; Roxie Denning brought Christie Porter. Acting President McDill introduced Jill Breman who announced that July 14 will be the blood drive and anyone donating can have a free cholesterol screening. She also thanked the club members for their care and thoughts to them with Joe 's father passing away.

Announcements: Mike McDill reminded the club about Rich Emerson running for District Governor with the election taking place at the conference in Cheyenne in August. Bob Colony reported that about 10 to 12 members have signed up to go and they have reserved a room to host a reception for Rich at the convention. Mike mentioned a club raffle for flowers for Rich. More on that in the future.

Bob Stratton in the hospital, thrown off horse, Mary Oblander has broken ankle, Bruce Isaacson is having eye surgery

Club birthdays: John Wicker, Sally Ryan, Leann Zetmier, Mary Oblander, and guest Jill Breman. Only Sally and Jill present. Sally told the club she has now visited all 50 states, Jill told the club she took guitar lessons from Guy Stevens , but not our guy!

Membership Anniversaries Jeff Cyriaks who was called up last week and Ted Sparn - Ted's favorite Kiwanis moment was giving former President Mark Relph a map of the City covered with Cheerios representing roundabouts.

Happy Bucks Orville Peterson - Randy Rexwinkle volunteered his wife to help Orville catch up on the club books, Don Teets said Daryl Henshaw, a transfer Kiwanian from Utah, attended the orientation last week, Brad Wilms said he was introduced to the Tree House program and has been invited to serve on their advisory board.

Not so Happy bucks (fines) Ron Sherman was the fine master. First he announced that the club should consider contributing a portion of their allocations budget to service men (& women's) families here in the Grand Valley. Then he went to fining. For never being fined he fined: Mike McDill, Gary Brown, and Brad Krebill. Ron tried to fine Les Goodman but Rick Nisley stood up for him and so that was let go, Rick Tuma was hit up for driving a 'vette, Guy Stevens for not doing the invocation, Steve Katz for selling his business, Pete Jouflas for his lack of dirty jokes lately, Jeff Cyriaks for getting a phone call during the meeting (Jeff Gumone called him from the next table - what a set up!) two tables were fined for having no women.

Amy Dyer then introduced the program which was Dr. Curtis Swift from the CSU Extension Office. He spoke about watering lawns, yard care and landscaping. It was very informative.

Tom Sheldon did news, weather and sports but mostly talked about the bombings in London this morning, what a tragedy. Reminded us not to complain about tight security.

Acting Pres. Mike reminded everyone to sign up for the blood mobile. The thought for the day from Bill Kistler who also reminded us all to keep Bruce Isaacson in our thoughts for his eye surgery. The thought was "don't argue with an idiot, people watching may not be able to tell the difference."

That's it!
