Well, we met this week with the Rotary Club. Their
president, Dan Robinson, called the meeting to order. He had the
police there to guard his bell as it seems the last time he came
in contact with the Kiwanis club his bell disappeared. Mike, do
you know anything about that?
I tried to get the members of Kiwanis who brought
guests but if you had someone and that person is not mentioned I
am sorry.
Rick Tuma had his son Travis as his guest. Bill
Byers had his children, Bryce and Lindsey with him. They are home
for Thanksgiving. LeAnn Zetmier brought her daughter Krista Reid
with her. Allison Ellington had her mother-in-law and former Grand
Junction Kiwanis member Michelle Heiser with her.
Kiwanis members who had happy bucks to contribute
included Mike Moran, Bill Byers, and Orville Peterson.
Don’t forget that next Saturday, December 4, is
bell ringing day. If you have not signed up plan to do so this
Thursday. We will ring from noon to 2 PM. Let’s get out there and
beat the Rotary.
Rotary brought weird news instead of News, Weather
and Sports. It had to do with practicing medicine without a
license. They also had a time of reading the Rotary 4 Way Test. I
wonder how many of us can tell about the goals of Kiwanis?
The program was H. Merritt Kinsey. He talked about
the Western Slope Industries. He is the CEO and they make machines
to fold paper cartons. He had a talk and showed a video. The
business employs some 90 people here in the valley.
Last week I mentioned Jeff Gumone missing his week
for his birthday. I erred. It was Chris Gumone that missed the
week of his birthday. Jeff assured me he was born in the spring
and not in the fall.
Don’t forget to sign up for the Golden K Christmas
Party. It is coming up on December 15. The cost is $17.50 per
person. We as a club are invited. However you must get your name
in the pot.
See you all this Thursday at the usual time and
place.
