Isn’t it great to hear of the many accomplishments of the Young Women of the Month? Today was the day for these outstanding teenagers to be introduced.

Maurice Henscheid handled the introductions.

Grand Junction High was represented by Hilary Tyler. She had her parents and her sponsor, Steve Waytek with her. Fruita High was ably covered by Sylvia Harris. She had Shanna Miller as her sponsor and she too, had her parents along. Central High’s Stacey Vogel was the Young Woman of the Month. Her sponsor was Kim Babbel. She had her parents and her grandmother with her. From Palisade Jordan Lennartson was the girl selected for this month. She introduced her sponsor Dianna Vera and her parents.

All these young women are over-achievers and made us all proud by their accomplishments and their goals.

The meeting was called to order by President Rick Nisley at 12:25 according to his watch. He said he would never lie to us but what can you expect from a politician. Ha! Guy Stephens introduced his guest Tom Updike from the Colorado West Mental Health. Karen Stealey had Holly Nisley with her.

Happy Bucks were given by Pete Jouflas who said the Greek Orthodox Church will hold their festival this Saturday at the Church between 11AM and 7PM. The public is invited. President Rick pointed out that Gordon Harbert was all dressed up with a necktie and shirt with no company logo on it.

Wes D’Aponti said his wife approved of the club and would allow him to continue to come and in fact may join herself.

Ed Branson was the mystery greeter and he said the last one he greeted was LeAnn Zetmier and so she won the $10.00 pot.

Jeff Karandjeff brought the thought of the day. It was about the Pope driving a limousine.
