The meeting was lead by Rick Nisley. Do you believe it, the song of the
day was On Top Of Spaghetti. Jacquie Chappell-Reid lead the prayer. Jeff
Cyriaks and Coleen Arnold were the greeters.
Rick Tuma was celebrating his birthday but was gone.
Guests included Joe Barrow brought by Rick Nisley,
Randy Rexwinkle had Ken Willard as his guest. LeAnn Zetmier had Kathy
Wood and Gail Davidson with her. The Central Key Club was also there.
That included Allison, Shane, and Karen.
Rhonda Phillips from the Key Club said there is a
carnival May 1 and they are working to recruit new members and are
helping with the Senior Prom.
The program today was about Camp Kiwanis. Randy
Rexwinkle conducted the program. There was a song to the tune of Hello
Mother .Ed Branson is in charge of Finances and marketing is headed up
by LeAnn Zetmier and Heidi Pankow. Jim Moore is in charge of
maintenance. They also recognized the committee. Gail Davidson, the Ex
Director of Partners in Delta, Montrose and Ouray County gave a
testimonial on the use of the camp.
Kathy Wood told how she liked the good facilities at
the Camp including the area and the swimming pool. Bob Colony presented
a slide show and said there is to be another inter club at Glenwood
Springs on April 30.
Remember the camp can be used for retreats, reunions,
etc. There are scholarships available for under-privileged kids.
The next camp meeting is April 24 at 5:30 PM at the
Bray Education Center.
The membership promotion continues until May 15
according to Mike Moran. The goal is to fill a table with new members
There has been lots of media/PR according to Heidi
Pankow. She said ask retirees and those about to retire to come to club.
A special thanks to the following companies and
people who have contributed to the promotion for new membership. Those
are The Computer Wizard, The Cabaret Dinner Theatre, KKCO, KJCT, K-STAR,
and KREX.
Thanks, too, to Johnson’s House of Flowers, Hanson
Equipment, and Carpetland USA for their promotions for the Service Club
Golf Tournament.
The Pancake Day meeting is in 2 weeks. There are golf
shirts available through the club to be worn on Pancake Day. Bennets
Barbeque and Junction Square are donating the cost of the tickets and
the Banner on Main Street.
Several fines were handed out. Those included Joe
Higgins, Michele Heiser, Mark Relph, Bob Stratton and LeAnn Zetmier and
Rick Nisley.
There will be a picture day April 24. If you need to
have your picture updated plan to be there that day.
The nominations for officers were closed. Those
nominated for the board are Alan Friedman, Randy Rexwinkle, LeAnn
Zetmier and Allison Shain. Mark Relph was nominated for second Vice
President and Lynne Sorlye for Secretary.
Mike Moran brought News Weather and Sports. Jeff
Cyriaks brought the thought for the day and Les Gooding got the money.
