Alert Service Dog Copper & family

Copper is a graduate of the Alert Service Dog Academy of the Foothills Kiwanis Club of Boulder, CO.

He is 2 years old and watches over Grace Mellberg, 10, who suffers from Type I diabetes.

Mom Kimberley talks to the Kiwanis Club of Grand Junction about the work that Copper does to keep Grace safe and what a blessing it is to be given this gift by Kiwanis.  These types of service dogs range from $20,000 to $40,000 if purchased fully trained.

The Grand Junction Club has an Alert Service Dog Academy in the works and hopes to begin their first class in February or March, 2015.
